Department of Nursing Goal
The goal of the department is to prepare entry-level professional nurses with core competencies(knowledge, skills, and abilities) germane to nursing, and a commitment to lifelong Christian service. Students will be prepared to assume entry-level positions as professional nurses and/or pursue graduate education.
Expected Program Learning Objectives (PLOs)
At the conclusion of the curriculum the student will be able to:
1. Integrate practicum judgment when caring for individuals and populations across the lifespan and spheres of care.
2. Integrate research and scholarship into nursing practice.
3. Collaborate within the inter-professional team to deliver quality care across the healthcare continuum.
4. Synthesize quality and safety principles within nursing practice with the integration of informatics and healthcare technologies.
5. Lead within complex systems of care in promoting continuous, coordinated, equitable health care in partnership with individuals and populations.
6. Formulate a plan to grow one’s professional identity, promote personal wellness, and develop leadership within the discipline of nursing.
7. As citizens of God’s kingdom, fulfill one’s calling to be Christ’s agents of renewal and shalom.
