Football Stadium
Construction continues to make significant progress, and we're on track to complete the stadium in time for the majority of the fall season.
Work will continue into September, with final finishes expected to continue through October.
Single-game tickets are now available through 羞羞视频's Box Office.
May 2026
Road and pathway updates
Knollcrest Circle will close between the Lake Drive entrance and the south entrance of the soccer stadium parking lot (south entrance into Lot 7) throughout construction. The northeast exit from the soccer stadium lot to Knollcrest Circle will also be closed during this time.
Pedestrian access will remain open with one exception; the sidewalk between the soccer stadium and Knight Stadium will be closed during construction.
Walkers will be safely re-routed along a nearby pathway. Please refer to the campus map (above) for the most up-to-date pathway information.
October 2025
New Nutrition Lab鈥擟oming Nov 2025
Facility construction is still on schedule for completion by the end of the fall semester.

As of the week of August 14, the new turf field reached completion.
The football team hosted its first fall season practice on the field, welcoming families, players, and coaches for an informal dedication ceremony.

New Campus Pathways Lighting
羞羞视频 Facilities electricians completed the installation of new bollard lighting along two campus pathways this summer.
These additional lights enhance visibility and safety for pedestrians from Lot 8 to the residence halls, as well as the pathway in front of the tennis courts that connects the residence halls to the Fieldhouse.

New Nutrition Lab鈥擟oming Oct/Nov 2025
Steel has arrived and is being installed; this will form the structural support for the HVAC space adjacent and above the lab. Framing and electrical rough-in has also just begun.鈥

Phase #1 of Football Turf Field Construction鈥擟oming August 2025
The retaining wall that forms the base of the future stands has been installed. Teams have recently completed a permanent staircase that will go up from the new field toward the football building.

Additional furniture was delivered last week.
Elevator repairs are ongoing; we anticipate it will be ready for use by fall 2025.
Design development on Phase 2 of Commons Union is being finalized.

New Construction: Nutrition Lab
A nutrition lab is being constructed in the Spoelhof Fieldhouse Complex (Hoogenboom) for 羞羞视频鈥檚 School of Health.
The design phase for the nutrition lab is completed! See the latest set of renderings at the link here. Construction is scheduled to begin this spring and be completed by fall 2025 for academic use during second half of semester classes.

New office signage is being installed in Hekman Library.
Additional furniture has been ordered; status updates on delivery timelines are forthcoming.
Design development on Phase 2 of Commons Union is being finalized.
The team is deep into design and planning for Phase 1 of the new lower football practice field project:

Work on Phase 1 will kick off in spring 2025 and continue through July. The new practice field should be available for use by fall 2025.
The northwest portion of the Knollcrest Circle ring road (near the outdoor athletic fields) will experience partial closures during construction this summer. More details will be shared during periods of closure.
New Construction: Nutrition Lab
A Nutrition Lab is being constructed in the Spoelhof Fieldhouse Complex (Hoogenboom) for 羞羞视频鈥檚 School of Health.
Initial demo work has been partially completed. Construction is scheduled to begin this spring and be completed by fall 2025.

Progress is continuing on new office signage. Installation will continue through January.
Additional furniture has been ordered to fill out found space within Commons Union and to help provide more seating options in various locations on multiple floors of the building.
For Phase II of Commons Union, the design development stage is nearly complete.

Furniture delivery began July 7th and will continue through early August.
External windows have been installed along Commons Lawn (facing east)
Interior finishes (e.g., stairways, ceilings, carpeting, and doors) are being finalized.
At the football building, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical installations are nearly complete. Final external facia and trim will be installed in mid-July. External site work around the building has begun, including concrete and asphalt paths.
- Final Geothermal field tie-ins are now complete and the large air handler for the building was delivered and installed in early July.
At the soccer stadium, steel stringers that serve as the base for bleacher seating have been installed. Concrete flooring for the press box and hospitality space was recently poured. Final bleacher and seat installation will begin in late August.
- The stadium鈥檚 scoreboard will be installed before the facility鈥檚 opening.
- A 鈥渇irst look鈥 at the new facility for 羞羞视频 student athletes and coaches is scheduled for August as fall athletics kicks off. A formal dedication ceremony is being planned for October 5th (more details to come!).
The Cadaver Lab is complete except for a dishwasher for instrument sterilization being installed in late July. The Virtual Lab will be done in late July.
A dedication for these new facilities will be planned for September.

At Hekman Library, the stairs have been poured, flooring, cabinetry, seating banquettes, and glass storefronts are being installed, and construction crews are beginning to put finish touches on ceilings.
- In the coming weeks, work is being done to improve the heating and cooling system. 羞羞视频 faculty and staff in impacted areas have already been notified.
At Hiemenga Hall, on the lower level, most of the new drywall is up in the spaces that will house the Center for Intercultural Student Development, the Center for Student Success, and the TRIO program.
On the track project, drainage work will be done to address water issues to the west of the new practice soccer field.
- Reminder: The entire new open area north of the road off the East Paris entrance is off limits to runners, walkers, and other forms of foot traffic to protect seeded areas. Signs have been posted to mark the affected areas where foot traffic should be avoided.
At the football building, geothermal field tie-ins are now complete and awaiting final equipment delivery. HVAC, plumbing, and electrical installations are continuing. Final external facia and trim will be installed soon. External site work around the building has begun including concrete paths.
At the soccer stadium, most structural steel is installed and the roof has just been completed. Internal masonry is being completed. Floors are poured and plumbing and electrical rough ins are continuing. Steel supports for the grandstands will be installed in June.
The cadaver lab is nearing completion over a month early.

A dedication for these new facilities will be planned for September.
April 2024
On the 300 level, door preparation and millwork on the banquettes, seating, and cabinets are in progress. Work on the ceiling and drywall installation is also in progress.
On the 200 and 100 levels, work has begun on bathrooms and painting preparations.
At Hiemenga Hall, interior framing and mechanical projects are in flight. From there, construction teams will begin hanging drywall.
On the track project, drainage work will be done to address water issues to the west of the new practice soccer field.
- The entire new open area north of the road off the East Paris entrance is off limits to runners, walkers, and other forms of foot traffic. Those areas have been seeded and further top dressing and seeding will be done. We hope to open this new space for the fall cross country and soccer seasons, but the grass will require an undisturbed summer of growth to allow that to happen. Signs will be posted to mark the affected areas where foot traffic should be avoided.
Work on the football building has moved indoors as HVAC and plumbing is being installed. On the exterior, the roof has been completed and metal work and brick work are being finalized.
The next two months of work on the soccer stadium will be very busy. Some steel has already arrived and cranes are coming in to move and install steel starting early the week of April 15. Once steel goes up, teams will begin adding additional masonry around the steel.
The lab鈥檚 construction has progressed smoothly, and we are currently anticipating an early completion date. The delivery date was originally planned for early July; now, the team is targeting June 1.

Structural steel has been laid in preparation for the cutting of staircase openings, which should progress in the coming weeks. With more drywall up and clear entryways carved out, the future internal floorplan of the space is starting to take shape.
The football building is scheduled for completion in late summer.
The soccer stadium experienced some structural design delays and is currently awaiting a steel delivery, which will advance the visible progress in the coming weeks.
- Steel will start going up soon followed by the masonry around it.
On the geothermal project, underground tie-ins are being finalized from the wells to the building.

The canopy covering the external staircase on the east side of the library has been removed and holes are being cut along exterior walls where new windows will be installed on the 300 level.
On the inside of Hekman, drywall is being hung, painting is beginning and furniture selection for redesigned interior spaces is near completion.
The first ever 羞羞视频 home lacrosse game took place on the new turf field on February 13. Student athletes and coaches were excited and grateful to make use of the new space!
Renderings will be finalized soon for both the football building and soccer stadium.
On the new soccer stadium, concrete footings are being finished. Once the cement work is done, masonry and structural steel will begin to go up.
External steel is continuing on the football building and interior rough-ins are beginning.
Geothermal drilling supporting both buildings is complete and tie-ins to the buildings should be completed in the next two week.
January 2024
In the library, studs are up indicating where new internal walls will be soon. Construction teams are making progress on ducts and piping, and they are installing concrete reinforcement in the areas where the new central staircase will be.
Exterior work is continuing on Hiemenga Hall facing the Commons lawn. Concrete footings on new exterior walls will be poured when the weather warms next week.
Foundations and floors were completed on the football building the week of Jan 8. From there, when the weather warms the week of January 22, the masons will begin putting up walls.
Footing walls and backfill are in process on the soccer stadium and the construction team is currently gearing up to tie in the geothermal lines.
Geothermal drilling supporting both buildings is continuing and should be completed in the next two weeks. Based on a recent assessment of ground quality during drilling, efforts have shifted toward drilling more holes at shortened depths.
In the next few weeks, renderings will be finalized for both the football building and soccer stadium.
Cadaver Lab
Demolition in preparation for the cadaver lab鈥檚 construction began right when exams wrapped up in mid-December. Construction has now begun and we are ahead of schedule.
December 2023
Hekman Library
We鈥檝e moved from demolition to renovation in Hekman Library. Construction crews are already on site beginning preparations for concrete work and temporary wall set up inside the building during December.
External excavations are scheduled to begin the week of December 18.
Outdoor Athletics
Ground has broken on the football building.
Early December, foundation work is scheduled to begin on the soccer stadium. Walls will begin going up on the football building during this same time.

With the 羞羞视频 Classic 5K on Saturday, September 30, roadways will be closed for the event around campus on both the east and west sides of the East Beltline. Please plan ahead if you are coming or going from Homecoming events that morning.

CFAC Lot
With the construction fencing now installed, there will be limited parking on the south side of the CFAC lot. The north side of the lot will continue to offer the same amount of parking. You will be able to walk between the lots, but will not be able to drive through. This will remain the case for the entire 2023鈥2024 academic year.
Hekman Library
In mid-August, construction partners installed a fencing perimeter around Hekman Library and portions of the Covenant Fine Arts Center parking lot to establish a construction zone for equipment and materials.
All entrances to Hekman Library are closed with the exception of the south facing entrance across from the Meeter Center, but access to Hiemenga Hall and the fourth and fifth floors of Hekman Library will remain open throughout the construction period, which is expected to last 10鈥11 months.

Outdoor Athletics
Final site improvements including temporary stands and a press box are being completed on the east side of the soccer field. On Thursday, August 17, 羞羞视频鈥檚 athletic teams began using the new turf field.
